Electoral laws and Law on prevention of interest conflicts-experience and practice in the region
In cooperation with Association of Election Officials in Bosnia and Herzegovina and non-governmental organization GONG from Croatia, CeSID is carrying out the project ‘Electoral laws and Law on prevention of interest conflicts- experience and practice in the region’ aiming at exchanging experiences, setting examples of good practice and pointing at the problems that three countries (Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia) have been facing in the course of application of these laws. The purpose of the project is to reach the best solutions that will initiate positive changes in the field of electoral legislation and interest conflicts in all three countries.
In order to achieve the goal three regional meetings in Sarajevo, Zagreb and Belgrade are planned to be held. Representatives of state institutions in charge of these fields, as well as representatives of non-governmental organizations that deal with these issues will participate. After the regional meetings are held, three organizations that are conducting the project will prepare a report containing examples of the best practice from the region and recommendations for the improvement of electoral legislation and prevention of interest conflicts. The report with recommendations will be sent to institutions in charge and interested subjects that can contribute to changes in legal regulation and it will be promoted in the public.
The project will be carried out in the period from 1st November 2007 to 31st October 2008, and it is supported by Open Society Fund. |
